CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (NEWSPLEX) — A new restaurant in Charlottesville giving a part of its proceeds to the Ivy Creek Foundation.

The event also included live music at their location on the Downtown Mall.

Barsseire Saison gives to a new organization every Sunday, but they say Ivy Creek is especially important to them.

“Marilyn Smith, who runs the Ivy Creek Foundation is pretty much family to us here,” said Alicia Walsh-Noel, manager. “She reached out to us and asked if she could be a part of one of our Sundays, and of course I said yes.”

“You can get away to a green space and get away from all of your electronics,” said Marilyn Smith, president of the Ivy Creek Foundation. “Kids can experience nature, and we’re really close to the urban and suburban enviroment that’s protected.”

The Ivy Creek Foundation runs the Ivy Creek Natural Area near Earlysville, which contains miles of nature trails.
