Greenville Police Department is investigating two break-ins at neighboring apartments, including one where firearms and electronics valued at nearly $9,000 were stolen.

A thief smashed a rear ground window at 4001 Cobblestone Drive, Apt. 2, between 5 p.m. on June 30 and 6:46 p.m. on Tuesday and stole property valued at $8,809. The victim in the incident is listed as a 27-year-old man. 

According to a case report, a Toshiba laptop, Macbook Pro laptop, iPad, Mares dive computer, pair of earrings, sapphire necklace and earrings, Invicta watch, Croton watch with black band, silver rectangular watch, gold Timex watch with leather band, Apple Watch, Croton wristwatch with flexible wristband were stolen from the home.

A Playstation 3 console, 40-inch flat-screen television, Marlin Firearms .22 rifle, CZ-USA .30-06 rifle with Redfield scope, 1864 Lee Enfield .50 hammer rifle, Remington 12-gauge shotgun and Springfield Armory .40 handgun also were stolen.

A second apartment was targeted in the same time frame.

Apartment 1 was entered without force between 5 p.m. on July 1 and 4:47 p.m. on Tuesday. A 27-year-old man and 26-year-old woman are listed as the victims in the incident.  

According to a case report, a Kenneth Cole watch, 27-inch Sanyo television, 32-inch Sanyo television, 47-inch Sanyo television, Playstation 3 console, two DualShock controllers, motion controller, controller charging dock, 10 Playstation 3 games and Springfield Armory M1 Garand .30 rifle all valued at $845 were stolen.

Break-ins, thefts

3200 block Dickinson Avenue Extension, 7-10 p.m. July 5: purse containing ID cards and cash valued at $150 stolen from vehicle; green 2000 Ford F-150 XLT sustained damage; investigation ongoing.

2200 block Saddleback Drive, 7:51 p.m. July 5: two bicycles all valued at $200 stolen and recovered; investigation ongoing.

300 block Clairmont Circle, 2 a.m.-3:23 p.m. July 5: iPhone valued at $250 stolen; case inactive.

100 block Cherry Court Drive, midnight June 5-2:38 p.m. July 5: ISSC .22 pistol and unspecified .22 firearm all valued at $577.53 stolen; investigation ongoing.

210 S.W. Greenville Blvd., 1:20-1:28 p.m. July 5: Bell AirStrike air pump valued at $9.96 stolen from Walmart and recovered; arrest made; juvenile contact made.

2300 block Dickinson Avenue, 1:30 p.m. July 2-11:06 a.m. July 5: Samsung Galaxy 3 cell phone valued at $50 stolen; case inactive.

200 block Southwest Greenville Boulevard, noon July 4-8:31 a.m. July 5: wheel center cap valued at $500 stolen; case inactive.

600 block Queen Anne’s Road, 12:30-11:04 a.m. July 4: Garmin GPS and bag of coins all valued at $200 stolen from vehicle; investigation ongoing.

3200 block Rolston Road, 11:30 p.m. July 3-10:37 a.m. July 4: black Trek men’s bicycle and blue Trek women’s bicycle all valued at $600 stolen; investigation ongoing.

Assaults

100 block Cortland Road, 12:51 a.m. July 6: 34-year-old woman strangled by ex-boyfriend; moderate injuries reported; investigation ongoing.

1000 block Peed Drive, 11:34 p.m. July 5: 27-year-old woman assaulted by spouse; extent of injuries not reported; case inactive.

1800 block Hop Tyson Road, 7-7:42 p.m. July 5: 31-year-old man assaulted; minor injuries reported; investigation ongoing.

1000 block Masters Lane, 10:29 p.m. July 4: 18-year-old woman assaulted by sibling; extent of injuries not reported; warrants obtained.

Damages

100 block River Bluff Road, 9 p.m. June 30-3:50 p.m. July 5: gray 2014 Toyota Corolla sustained $2,000 damage; case inactive.

1000 block West Fourth Street, 3:05-3:25 p.m. July 4: window sustained $150 damage; case inactive.

PITT COUNTY

The sheriff’s office released reports Wednesday with the following details and allegations:

Break-in, theft

500 block Rustic Lane, 9:40-9:45 p.m. July 4: force used by acquaintance to gain entry into residence; back door sustained $150 damage; arrest made.

4000 block Kings Crossroads Road, 12:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. July 5: Nike shirt, Levi’s pants, Nike Air Zoom shoes and money all valued at $340 stolen from vehicle through use of force; investigation ongoing.

Assaults

2300 block Lester Mills Road, midnight July 4-10:28 p.m. July 5: 24-year-old woman assaulted by other family member; no injuries reported; offender also charged with sexual battery; investigation ongoing.

1900 block Jackson Avenue, 1:30-1:57 p.m. July 5: 46-year-old woman assaulted by stranger with undetermined firearm; no injuries reported; drug/alcohol use unknown; case unfounded.
