the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste and the world’s
largest IT asset disposition (ITAD) and cybersecurity-focused hardware
destruction company, once again teamed up with the Broadway
Green Alliance
(BGA) for a successful e-waste collection event which
took place in Duffy Square in New York City last week.

The organizations gathered electronic waste from the theatre industry,
including shows, theatres, industry members and performers and fans.

The event was designed to give the local community an opportunity to
safely unload their old computers, cell phones, television sets, and
other outdated, unusable or unwanted consumer electronic items for
proper and responsible recycling.

ERI will recycle all the e-waste that was collected at the event,
destroying all data (even when a device is not fully destroyed) and
recycling or refurbishing all items in an environmentally responsible

“We are extremely proud to have once again partnered with our friends at
the BGA for this important event,” said John Shegerian, Co-Founder and
Executive Chairman of ERI. “By working together, we succeeded in getting
the word out about the importance of responsibly recycling electronics
while helping the great people of New York City and the theatre industry
keep their unwanted items out of landfills. We look forward to
conducting similarly successful events for years to come!”

launched in 2008 as an ad hoc committee of The Broadway League and has

brings together all segments of the theatre community, including
producers, Broadway and Off-Broadway theatres in New York and around the
country, college drama programs, theatrical unions and their members,
and related businesses. Working closely with the Natural Resources
