LADY luck was on Chong Siew Lan’s side when she earned RM1,100 for wearing a green dress to the Home Decor and Design Exhibition (Homedec).
The surprise giveaway was part of the “Salebration” galore held in conjunction with Homedec’s 15th anniversary.
The 64-year-old homemaker from Shah Alam had a pleasant surprise when she was picked to participate in the Grab-All-The-Cash-You-Can contest for being the 15th visitor in green attire.
“I am happy to win something for the first time at Homedec as I did not win anything the last two years I visited the exhibition,” she said after receiving her prize on the first day of the exhibition at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
In the contest, Chong’s challenge was to grab as many notes as possible in five seconds.
Aside from exclusive promotions, the exhibition which ends today will also have fun activities such as the Grab-All-The-Cash-You-Can and rewards in store for visitors.
Visitors who register upon entry get to be in the running to win vouchers and products worth more than RM3,000, through the “Register and Visit” contest.
With minimum spending of RM150, visitors stand to walk away with cash, cash vouchers, home decor products as well as the chance at the Grab-All-The-Cash-You-Can box, which is filled with RM100 money notes.
Those who spend more than RM1,500 in a single receipt stand an additional chance to bring home gold bars worth RM100,000.
Homedec’s Flash Green campaign will reward visitors carrying or wearing anything green in colour when they visit participating booths.
Visitors will also want to keep an eye out for the Homedec Cruisers for more freebies and cash vouchers and the “Raining Cash Wall” for the Homedec Instagram Snap and Win contest to win cash prizes worth RM1,000 by posting their creative shot.
With more than 400 exhibitors occupyÂing 1,100 booths, the four-day exhibition features myriad home solutions for both the interior and exterior.
The main highlight is the Homedec Showhome themed “Kids Living and Design”, which features a 96sq m space that showcases design possibilities of creative optimised spaces for the young ones.
Designed by Krea Kids, Innere Design and Quade Studio, the showroom layout is divided into three show units: Safe and Sound; Space-Planning and Colour; and Fun and Creative, respectively.
C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd president Datuk Vincent Lim said parents were increasingly paying more attention to putting together living spaces that prioritised their children’s welfare and well-being.
“Parents want the best for their kids and based on past years’ research, there is demand for children-related products.
“Homeowners want to see ideas and designs incorporated into children’s living spaces. So we created this showroom to give some inspiration,” he said.
The new Marketplace by Kitchen Shop located in Hall 1, is a centralised zone that showcases top brands ranging from dinnerware, kitchenware and houseware essentials to smart gadgets.
Opening hours are from 10am to 8pm and entrance is free.
