SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Hundreds of technology experts will rally in Springfield today to show off the latest gadgets and gizmos. It’s part of the third annual Tech IT Out Expo.
The event began with registration at 7 a.m., followed by a presentation by Springfield businessman, Shawn Askinosie of Askinosie Chocolate.
After that, visitors are invited to attend any of the more than 30 sessions throughout the day where they can see some of the latest gadgets, both hardware and software.
Tech experts will also explain how those gadgets could improve their business.
But officials say there’s something beneficial for people at all levels.
“It’s for the help desk all the way to the CEO of a company, they can come out and see what’s going on with technology in the area,” committee chairman Eric Ham said. “All the vendors are going to be highlighting their products or solutions so if you’re just looking for a solution or you’re a professional that is looking for resources, you’ll find it in one of our classes or through one of our vendors.”
There is a green element to all this: A recycling truck is set up here to take your old and unwanted computers or parts.
Admission is free but you’re asked to donate either three dollars or three canned goods, all of which will be donated to The Kitchen.
Also, if you’re a student in high school or college they have sessions that are geared toward that demographic with a lot of HR and IT panels coming in. Students can find out what companies are looking for in the area and what skills they need to get that job once they graduate.
