One thing we can all agree on is that we’re all glued to our phones. It’s basically an extension of our physical bodies, and all our time is spent Snapchatting, WhatsApping or Instagramming.
Now the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (UWGB) in the US is tapping into this frenzy for social media by sending its acceptances over Snapchat.
That’s right: if you’ve applied to UWGB for autumn 2017, got in and provided your Snapchat handle on the forms, you would’ve been sent a celebratory snap informing you of the news.
Don’t worry if you’re not snap happy like so many other millennials out there, because UWGB is still sending its traditional admissions packs via snail mail. Ugh – how low-tech.
But the positive of being on Snapchat is that you are likely to receive the news before it arrives in the post.
Some people think the move is savvy targeting from the university.
And new students are replying in the most 2016 way possible: by sending back excited selfies.
Sigh. We’re all for technological advancement, but is this really what the world is coming to?
