THE Ministry of Youth and Sports, National Golf Association of Fiji, Korean Embassy in Fiji, Fiji International and Nabou Green Energy Ltd, have joined hands to organise the inaugural Fiji International Youth Golf Tour on August 16-17 at the Fiji Golf Club, Suva.
Sixteen students will be invited to compete.
“The tournament aims to develop and encourage more young Fijians to play golf, and help enhance students from different races interact and learn each other’s culture,” Korean Embassy deputy chief of mission Jeong-yeol Kwak said.
The Korean Embassy is the sponsor and Nabou Green Energy Ltd will make a monetary presentation during the closing ceremony.
“The students will be selected by National Golf Association of Fiji. It is open to male and females under the age of 18 and who are below 18 handicaps.
The winners will get Korean IT products in the award ceremony which will include the Minister for Sports Laisenia Tuitubou.”
The winning trophy will be brought from Korea and the eight main winners will receive tablets and gadgets to help recipients in their studies.
