The Suffolk Coastal car park will re-open on April 1 following improvements.

The Thorpe Road Car Park in Aldeburgh underwent improvements to its drainage and surface to prevent standing water issues.

The car park, which will be open to the public from April 1, was also been given a new shingle surface to help the car park drain water effectively.

This follows on from improvements to the Melton Riverside Car Park completed in January, this involved realigning the parking area to create 20 new spaces and re-dressing the surface to improve its appearance.

Cllr Carol Poulter, cabinet member for the Green Environment at Suffolk Coastal, said: “It’s great that we’ve been able to make improvements to the two car parks ahead of our busiest tourist periods.

“I’d like to thank the public for their cooperation during the works.”

Both car parks will receive ongoing maintenance by Suffolk Coastal Norse.
