Basking Ridge, New Jersey, September 20, 2016
The Basking Ridge Fire Company No. 1 is reaching out to residents of Bernards Township and surrounding communities to find a Christmas tree to adorn the Basking Ridge town center during this 2016 holiday season.
In accordance with long standing tradition, members of the all-volunteer Fire and Emergency Medical Services organization gather on the first Saturday following Thanksgiving to cut the specially selected tree, transport it to the town center, secure in place at the historic war memorial “green,” and hang approximately 1,500 lights that will illuminate the tree and the green throughout the holiday season.
Fire Company President, Patrick Dilorenzo states, “The residents of Bernards Township and surrounding communities have never failed to provide the Fire Company with a tree for the holidays. If you have a large evergreen that needs to be removed from your property, please consider donating it to this annual Christmas tree tradition.” He adds, “‘The Fir’ Company cannot continue to uphold this tradition without the assistance and support of our host community and neighboring communities. We will do all the work to cut and transport the tree to its honored position in town, you only need to supply the tree.”
Residents in Bernards Township and surrounding communities that would like to donate a tree may contact Todd Middleton via email (email@example.com) or by phone at (908) 400-4692.
