This line-up promises to be an action packed, variety filled year of entertainment.
Little River Band opens the season on Sept. 15, followed by Jazz at Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis on Sept. 30. Then Black Violin, a hip hop duo of classically trained string instrumentalists, take the stage in Oct. 10, followed by Catapult, an “American’s Got Talent” finalist, on Oct. 20. October ends with Legends of Rock — Where the Action Is featuring Paul Revere’s Raiders, Mitch Ryder and Peter Rivera on Oct. 21.
The CAC starts November with Black Jacket Symphony, Led Zeppelin IV on Nov. 10, then goes highly patriotic for Veterans Day with River City Big Band’s stirring tribute to the Armed Forces. The month finishes with the comedy duo Colin Machrie and Brad Sherwood, from “Who’s Line is it Anyway,” on stage Nov. 19.
The festive holidays arrive with the classic Nutcracker Ballet on Dec. 2 and 3 and Rhythmic Circus Red and Green Holiday Show on Dec. 7, which promises to tap dance into everyone’s heart. CAC will open the New Year with an unforgettable theatrical performance of A Night with Janis Joplin on Jan. 18 and a return of The Russian Ballet, performing Sleeping Beauty on Jan. 26.
The month of February showcases internationally acclaimed Riverdance 20th Anniversary tour on Feb. 1. The Legends of Rock-California Surf Tour, where every member toured with the Beach Boys, takes the stage on Feb. 3 and Hollywood SFX will offer an explosive performance, answering the question “how do they do that…” and allowing the audience to discover some of the fascinating science and secrets of movie magic on Feb. 8.
Rounding out the month will be The Everly Brothers Experience with The Zmed Brothers taking the stage on Feb. 17.
The CAC along with the Williamsport Community Concert Association will proudly host the six-time Grammy award winners, The Chieftains, on March 9, followed by the one and only Squirrel Nut Zippers with Davina the Vagabonds on March 24.
BodyTraffic, hailed as “one of the most talked about young dance companies,” arrives on April 13, along with the Broadway production of The Wizard of Oz on April 15.
The CAC Season closes with the longstanding Broadway hit, Cabaret, on May 20.
