It’s European vacation season and three of our France-based, expat All Blacks, Victor Vito, Ali Williams and Dan Carter have embarked on very different types of holidays.
It’s almost been like a babymoon for Vito and his wife Amber, their almost 1-year-old son Cruz and older brother Karlos, who have been living in La Rochelle for almost a year.
The young family were joined by newlywed friends, The Crowd Goes Wild presenter Makere Gibbons and property developer Kurt and their baby Tommy. Since early June the friends have been travelling through Italy, from Rome to Sienna, then hitting the Mediterranean coast in Croatia. This week they managed to find a babysitter so the adults could enjoy a party night on the island of Hvar.

They just missed Ali and Casey Williams, who will return to New Zealand after the European holiday season. The pair have been on their annual cruise on Auckland Rich Lister Steve Owens’ super yacht, this year sailing to Montenegro, Hvar and Dubrovnik.
Williams’ former Racing Metro team-mate and our most famous rugby export, Dan Carter, days before arriving in New Zealand, spent his family holiday with wife Honor and her mother Maling Dillon. The family stayed at a fabulous house in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur.

The couple, who attended a charity dinner in Dublin recently and departed in a private jet, are embracing all forms of travel, with Carter posting a picture of himself and Maling in a hot air balloon. Mix five-star restaurant dining and lounging by an awesome pool, the Carters know how to holiday in style.
