Sir Elton John went to sea in a beautiful pea-green suit – on a shorts trip to fetch his shopping.
He was still standing, just, as the boat bobbed in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, where he and hubby David Furnish went to the mall.
Elton, 69, and David, 53, have been staying on the island at the 5-star Hotel Cala Di Volpe, with sons Zachary, five and Elijah, three.
It is six minutes away from the designer shops by car – but easier by boat from the private jetty, reports the Sunday People.
Elton’s still a trendsetter, it seems. John Lyden, aka Sex Pistol Johnny Rotten, was seen in similar gear yesterday in Los Angeles.
Elton and hubby David were yesterday pictured wearing matching shirts as they relaxed in their luxurious surroundings.
The star has been taking time out following a trip to Durban in South Africa, where he continued his relentless campaigning for the fight against HIV and Aids.
Speaking recently he said: “We have come a long way, but we still have a way to go.”
Earlier this month Sir Elton vowed to create a $10million fund to support LGBT Africans who are stigmatised and penalised.
The superstar has joined Pepfar, the US president’s emergency plan for AIDS relief, and announced their plans on Wednesday at the international AIDS conference in Durban, South Africa.
“We will help them on the ground,” Elton told the audience.
“With these countries sometimes, who knows, it might take 50 years, but I guarantee it will change.”
