The Beacon-based Clearwater environmental organization will hold its annual festival on June 16-17, 2018.

Weekend and camping tickets are on sale now for the decades-old gathering at Croton Point Park, in Westchester County, that was canceled in 2016 and held in June 2017.

Proceeds from ticket sales support Clearwater’s environmental research, education and advocacy, all of which revolve around the Hudson River and Hudson Valley. Additional information about tickets, and news regarding musical acts will be announced.

PETE SEEGER: Spanning divides

Clearwater was founded decades ago by the late Pete Seeger of Dutchess Junction. Seeger and his late wife, Toshi, developed and nurtured a loyal following of Clearwater members and supporters. A folk singer and member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Pete Seeger was a passionate environmental activist.

Also known as Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival, the event was last held in June. The festival was canceled in 2016 because of financial risk; and so Clearwater could focus on an $850,000, U.S. Coast Guard-mandated restoration of its historic sloop, which has been completed.

In addition to live music from national headliners, Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival has featured dance, storytelling and family-oriented programming; a juried Handcrafters’ Village; Green Living Expo; Artisanal Food Farm Market; environmental education displays and exhibits; and rides on the sloop.
