Make 2018 the year for creating an attractive and water-wise landscape. Like all home improvement projects, the first step is a good design. Begin creating your own landscape by attending a free landscape design class 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 13 at the Glendale Main Library, 5959 W. Brown St. This class kicks off a new year of the Glendale Water Services Department’s monthly “Green-Living” class series.
If you are looking to renovate your yard, this is a great class to get practical tips, ideas, and resources. Presenter Jo Miller is an expert in sustainable landscape design with over 25 years of experience in Arizona. Miller will guide you through the essential design steps that incorporate sun, shade, wind, and water elements. Attendees will get hands-on experience creating a landscape design that is tailored to their yard.
The “Green-Living” class series will continue each month with new topics, guest speakers, and how-to resources for creating a more sustainable home. The next class will be held 10 a.m. Feb. 3 and will cover vegetable gardening in the low desert.

Classes are free and open to Glendale and non-City residents, and advance registration is required by calling 623-930-3760, or emailing email@example.com. You do not have to be a Glendale resident to attend.
