MARLBOROUGH – Promoters expect thousands of visitors next month to the northeast’s biggest holistic health and wellness event, the 10th annual Natural Living Expo.
Michella Brudner organized the expo to promote holistic health and wellness. The first expo featured 60 exhibitors and drew a few hundred visitors. This year’s expo will feature 275 exhibitors, 90 workshops and four keynote speakers.
“It has grown and grown due to the popularity of natural health and natural living,” said Brudner, the event’s producer. “People have embraced many of the natural healing modalities out there.”
Expo visitors can learn about the mind, body, spirit healing connection, green living, healthy eating, alternative medicine therapies and holistic healing. Holistic healing is a form of preventative care that uses tools such as massage therapy and psychic readings.
One of the most popular attractions each year are the cooking demonstrations. Annie Kay, a licensed dietician, will host a day of culinary demonstrations aimed at weaving the latest nutritional science with mindfully enjoying food for health and healing.
“You can always learn new techniques to bring into your kitchen,” said Brudner.
The expo will also feature four keynotes addresses. John Holland, a psychic medium, and Vani Hari, a food activist, will share habits aimed at changing visitors’ minds and bodies.
Nick Ortner, the best-selling author of “The Tapping Solution,” and Gabrielle Bernstein, a best-selling New York Times author, will also speak.
A free sample bar with more than 50 natural products and foods will also be available for attendees to try, said Brudner.
“There’s really a topic for anyone and everyone,” said Brudner.
The expo will be held Saturday, Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Best Western Royal Plaza Trade Center on Rte. 20. Admission is $12 in advance and $15 at the door the day of the expo. For more information and a schedule of events visit www.naturalexpo.org.
