The St. Regis Tianjin is devoted to environmental protection and sustainable development. To better promote environmental consciousness and the idea of sustainable development, the hotel launched a meeting package that emphasizes green living on February 1.
Available until December 31, the package offers guests a high-quality meeting experience with a twist. For example, guests are encouraged to take the stairs instead of elevators or escalators to get to their meeting spaces. Also, the hotel replaces bottled water with water dispensers and provides ball-point pens instead of pencils to help reduce the impact on the environment. The air conditioners in the meeting rooms are also kept at 26 C, a temperature which saves energy and produces relatively less emission
There are various environmentally friendly meeting packages to be had, but if guests book the initiatives above, the St. Regis Tianjin will upgrade the meeting’s tea break for free, moving it from a regular tea break to a tailored package that features nutritious and low-fat treats to refresh the guests on their break. The hotel currently offers two kinds of upgrade packages for guests to choose from.
Even the smallest change can have a significant impact on the environment over time. One of the key goals of the hotel is to affect such a change, and they have done the research to achieve it. According to the hotel’s calculations, if guests walk to their meeting areas instead of taking the elevator, the hotel will save 10 percent of its energy output, which is equal to a cut of 4.8 tons of carbon dioxide annually. Similarly, using ball-point pens instead of pencils and keeping its air conditioning unit fixed at 26 C, neither too cold nor too warm, can reduce excessive deforestation and save tons of carbon emissions each year.
The environmentally friendly meeting package at the St. Regis Tianjin is effectively cuts emissions by following the idea of sustainable development, and the hotel wishes more and more of its guests will join in to protect the environment with low-carbon and eco-friendly meeting packages.
