Is there a better way to spend a lazy summer day than teeing it up at one of the many fine golf courses in the Muskegon area?
How about combining some of the top holes to make a Dream 18?
That’s what we’ve done, using input from readers, local golfers, club pros and course owners to come up with a must-play list that challenges the avid player and one the novice can still find fun.
We’ve selected courses, both public and private, from Grand Haven north to Hart and everywhere in between.
The list isn’t just the No. 1 handicap holes, but we factored in the challenge along with the setting. We designed our Dream 18 as a regulation course of par-3s, 4s and 5s. Our list is a par-71 and holes were broken into a front and back nine. Holes are listed by the number on their respective course along with local tips on how to best play each one.
We kept each course to one hole, and even then, there was not enough room for every course in the area.
Our choices may, or may not, be yours, so feel free to share your favorites and thoughts in the comments section.
Kick back, drift off and enjoy.
