Greener BeeGreen Tips8 too-hot-to-handle styling tips from London Fashion Week

Craig Green, Astrid Andersen and Grace Wales Bonner fully asserted themselves as the new fashion establishment this season. Green’s crepe-y, ribbed tailoring, architectural knits and sculptural performance pieces have become such potent brand signifiers that his shows hit the sweet spot between press worthiness and commercial viability with staggering speed. People want a piece of Craig Green, and the designer has figured out exactly what to give them to keep them satisfied. Namely: smock-like shirts with structural accents and wide-cut tailored separates with a puritanical feel.

At Astrid Andersen the clothes were textured both figuratively and conceptually. The Danish-born, London-based designer surpassed herself with a sportswear-heavy collection which, thanks to its artful fabrication and intelligent articulation could just as easily be appreciated by the tailoring crowd as it could Andersen’s die hard fans.

Wales Bonner, meanwhile, remains the darling of LFWM, thanks in no small part to her superlative cutting prowess and knack for subtlety.
