Green business event Thursday
Allterra Solar, at 207B McPherson St., will host a Green Business networking event 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Speakers Jo Fleming of Environmental Innovations and Deidra Cole of Pier 2 Marketing will provide tips on how to maximize the marketing benefits of your Green Business certification.
Tiffany Wise-West from the city’s Climate Action Program will share news about Mayor Lynn Robinson’s Go Solar Santa Cruz Proclamation and the City Climate Action Program’s new resources for residential and commercial solar photovoltaics.

Blumenthal to address chamber
George Blumenthal, chancellor of UC Santa Cruz, will address the Aptos Chamber of Commerce March breakfast meeting 7:30-9 a.m. Thursday at Best Western Seacliff Inn, 7500 Old Dominion Court, Aptos.

Business plan talk on Thursday
Kirk Schmidt, a business planning instructor and finance lecturer, will speak on “Burn Your Business Plan” at the Pajaro Valley Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture luncheon 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Hall, Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds, 2601 E. Lake Ave, Watsonville.
He will present an analysis of why business plans often don’t work, and describe a different way to successfully expand your business, understand how budgets should work and perhaps assist in getting that next bank loan.
