GREEN BAY, Wis. – It’s Fire Prevention Week and already the Green Bay Metro Fire Department has put out five fires since Tuesday. Fire leaders say they all were preventable.
“The two things that most often get people into trouble is and cause a fire are not watching the things that get hot when they are using them, walking away, get distracted, watching tvor leaving the home. The other thing is putting things that can burn to close to those things that can get hot,” says Lt. Nick Craig with Green Bay Metro Fire Department.
The theme of fire prevention week is “Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives”.
