Martha Green, owner of Dough’Lectibles bakery and the Eating Room restaurant in Redlands, will lead her annual holiday baking class for the Redlands Family YMCA 6 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Eating Room, 107 E. Citrus Ave.

Green will teach participants 11 recipes and offer baking tips and techniques. The class also includes a light supper.

Cost is $25 and a promise to donate at least four dozen cookies or other baked goods to the YMCA’s annual Holiday Craft Boutique and Pantry event, to be held Dec. 2 and 3, the weekend of the Y’s Holiday Home Tour.

“Martha’s presentations are always entertaining and filled with flair,” said Patsy Oppenheim, one of the Craft Boutique and Pantry volunteers, in a press release from the YMCA.

“She plans to share some new cookie recipes, as well as several of her tested and trusted baking tips. Holiday cookie making will never be the same after participating in Martha’s holiday ‘how to,’ ” Oppenheim said.

Participants will take home samples and a booklet of recipes for easy-to-make cookies.

The Holiday Home Tour and Craft Boutique and Pantry raise funds for the Y’s Legal Aid Clinic, and proceeds from the holiday baking class also go to the Legal Aid Clinic.

In addition to Oppenheim, pantry volunteers are Marry Carruthers, Caroleen Cosand, Lori Hatfield, Sue Scheirer, Ann Smith and Jan Billings.

The baking class is limited to 70 participants. For reservations, call 909-798-9622 or go to ymcaeastvalley.org.
